KJDS Alumni

Meet Our

Alumni

Our alumni carry a deep sense of connection to our vibrant jewish community; it's a bond that goes beyond the school years, extending far into their futures. They return eagerly for alumni events and volunteer opportunities at KJDS when they’re off school where we get to witness the development of their strong sense of identity and confidence.

A KJDS education produces successful middle school learners.

All of our alumni have maintained exceptional scholastic records, with 90% of our alumni engaged in leadership roles or participating in extracurricular activities and over 70% in honors classes.

Parents of our alumni attribute their confidence, study skills, and organizational habits developed at KJDS to their children’s smooth and successful transitions to middle school.

KJDS students depart for middle school with an extraordinary love for learning, strong self identity, and exceptional critical thinking skills.

100% of our KJDS graduates have been accepted into their first choice of Middle School.

What our Alumni are Accomplishing

Frank credits his years at KJDS for the internal drive to persevere and reach for the stars. After graduating from Webb school of Knoxville in 2021 Frank thrived as a student athlete at Piedmont University, playing soccer for the Piedmont Lions. After recovering from a soccer injury, he transferred to University of Tennessee Knoxville double majoring in Global studies and Spanish. Frank has enjoyed being back in Knoxville and cheering on the VOLS! He has also started a business training aspiring soccer players and continues to make the Dean’s List at UTK.

At  KJDS Heidi developed a love for learning as she was challenged academically and always encouraged to maximize her potential. She graduated from Webb School of Knoxville in 2022 and now attends Miami University in Oxford Ohio. Heidi was accepted into the Honors College and the Farmer School of Business. She is a member of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. Heidi continues to challenge herself, making the Dean’s List, pledging Delta Sig, and being active in Hillel and Chabad on campus in her first semester.

Ben believes that nothing has set him up for greater success than KJDS. KJDS unlocked his creativity and thirst for knowledge. Ben played a lead role in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, an experience that forced him to sing on stage in front of hundreds of strangers. The thought of being on stage and talking to people used to terrify him, but KJDS helped him break out of his shell and become extremely personable and sociable. He later developed the courage to become the lead in his high school production of Newsies and join the cheerleading squad at his university, where he performed in front of thousands. Ben completed a BS in Computer Engineering from Tennessee Tech University in 2024 and immediately began a career in cyber security for NAVSEA, the civilian branch of the U.S. Navy.

Samantha credits KJDS with teaching her to think and develop excellent problem solving skills. As a result, she approaches academics from different perspectives. During her senior year at Hardin Valley Academy, she completed her EKG technician certification as part of the school’s cardiovascular sciences program. She also graduated high school with a health science endorsement.  Samantha is currently majoring in Public Health at the University of Arizona.
