We believe a small class size and low teacher student ratios are integral for maintaining our high standards and rigorous academic curriculum. Our optimal class size is no more than 10-12 students per grade.
Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is $13,500.
KJDS is committed to enrolling mission-aligned students and believes that tuition cost should not be a deterrent. KJDS provides financial aid for qualified students based on the financial needs of the family with the goal of ensuring that a KJDS education is accessible to our diverse community. Approximately one-third of our students receive some amount of tuition support annually. KJDS uses FACTS Financial, an impartial Grant & Aid Assessment company, to assess demonstrated need.
We offer rolling admission at KJDS but we strongly encourage families to submit applications by the end of December, as space is limited. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee for all applicants.
We welcome students and families regardless of religious practice. We offer a rich and robust Judaic studies and Hebrew language curriculum and we want families to feel comfortable with the Jewish education our students receive. Our families are diverse in their beliefs, affiliations and observances; we work together to create a welcoming community based on mutual respect and shared values.
KJDS alumni are enrolled in the top independent schools and public school programs in the area. Our graduates are confident and academically prepared and experience a smooth transition socially, academically, and emotionally. They begin middle school with a love of learning, a level of Jewish self-assurance, strength of character, and the ability to make wise decisions. For those students that apply to private schools, we have a 100% acceptance rate into the school of their choice. The majority of our alumni who enroll in public schools are in the honors program.
We welcome students into KJDS who have limited or no Hebrew language instruction. Students who transfer to KJDS from older grades typically do well in learning to speak and read Hebrew and we will offer each student the support they need to be successful.
Students wear a polo shirt or dress (in white, navy, light blue, red, or pink) with the KJDS logo embroidered on it and navy or khaki bottoms (pants, shorts, skorts, or skirts). KJDS t-shirts and sweatshirts may be worn as well.
